Channel
It`s possible to create your own channel for your alliance, personal usage or for thirdparty organisations associated with Travian.
First, join the channel you want to register. A channel always starts with the character: #
/join #channelname
If your the first user to join that channel, you will get automaticly an @ in front of your name. This indicates taht you`re channel operator which is necessary to register the channel.
If you don`t get an @, its either because your not the only one in the channel, or the channel was already registered.
Now we can start registering the channel, you want to be registered for your nickname so that others can`t adjust settings without your approval!
/chanserv register #channelname password description
Example:
/chanserv register #help SeCrEt Official Support channel
If you succeed, the following message will appear in your status window:
-ChanServ- Channel #channelname registered under your nickname: NICKNAME
-ChanServ- Your channel password is PASSWORD - remember it for later use.
And in the channel the following will be visible:
* ChanServ sets mode: +ntr
* ChanServ sets mode: +q NICKNAME
Das +q zeigt an, dass du der Besitzer des gerade registrierten Channels bist.
In order to set a topic for your channel do this:
/topic #channelnamen the channel`s topic
If your interested in security and making your channel invisible for others the following 2 ways are the most common to do so:
You can put your channel on secret (+s), this means users won`t see the channel when typing /list, or by doing a /whois on you.
It isn`t totally secret though as users are always able to guess it.
/mode #channelname +s
A second way to secure it is by placing a password on the channel. Only users having the password can join the channel by using the following command:
/mode #channelname +k this_is_a_password
To join the channel afterwards type:
/join #channelname this_is_a_password
Of course you can combine both settings.
For further help join #help.
